BRIEF HISTORY OF THE
500TH BOMB SQUADRON ASSOCIATION



The 500th Bomb Squadron Association was organized in September, 1979. It was organized by a handful of original members of our namesake 500th Bomb Squadron, while attending a reunion of the parent 345th Bomb Group (Medium) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Since that time, the Association's mission has been, and continues to be, to:


The Association's original Constitution & Bylaws were approved by the membership on 1 March, 1982. In an effort to make them more responsive to the Association's mission, the Bylaws have since been updated and approved as follows:

The Association is a non-profit organization, that was granted tax-exempt status on 24 March, 1982 under Section 501 (c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code.
