Lt. Robert W. Jensen Memorial
This memorial page has been
assembled by Chris Jensen McWilliams, Col, USAF RET, and Bob Jensen
USAF RET, to commemorate the father of Bob Jensen Pearson.
My cousin, Bob Jensen Pearson, and I have been
trying to put this article together for awhile. It all started
back in Aug 2008 when I finally found my cousin after some 30 years of
looking (unfortunately, not too smartly at times on my part). His
biological dad was 2Lt Robert W. Jensen, pilot, 500th bomb Squuadron,
KIA 15 March 1945. After the Squadron's Ogunquit, ME Reunuion in
Sept 2008 which we both attended (meeting youngsters Lynn, Rex and
Buzz), Bob wrote up the experience in an article called "The Circle of
Life," also previously published in the squadron newsletter.
As the accompanying "sequel" article shows, the Circle of Life indeed,
goes on in many ways for all of us...
I included as cc's the other key players in the
continuing saga of Bold Venture and her crew, primarily so they
will all have access to upload the narrative, pics, & videos, as
well as the URLs for the 500th Bomb Squadron and Bold Venture
websites. Be sure to read the Microsoft Word documents at the end
of the page.

small ridge (pic 1) but couldn't clear the second. Pilots
were trying to clear the top of this ridge and almost made it.
Impact point was by the large boulder, center/left in pic.
