At many
bases the 500th occupied, civilian helpers were allowed to work on base.
At Clark Field P.I. this practice was allowed, here are two such workers
who took laundry back to San Marcelino to wash. They were friends
of Chester Buckner, whom they had invited to a "Fiesta." By
the way Chester says, he found that if you treated then as you would your
sister, the laundry service was great. Ask him about that some time.
