This
is a picture taken of me by a friend when we were in the Philippines in
1995. It is at the enormous beautiful military cemetery in Manila. The
'Warpath' lists him as being killed July 2 1944 at Hollandia. He was an
armorer and had just driven up with others to service the "The Generals
Daughter" just back from a mission. When the bomb bay doors were opened
two live 100 pound parademo bombs dropped out killing twelve men. Seven
were armorers, a crew chief and four crew. I was in the ship just ahead
and as we were walking away from the hardstand we heard the bombs going
off. Big fire also.
Davis is listed in the 500th list as at; 632 Fairfield
Circle Westfield NJ. I know that his relatives would like to
have this picture if someone could locate them. It is a long shot!
